KAMPOT (The Cambodia Herald 18-4)- Prime Minister Hun Sen urges Thailand to maintain peace with Cambodia as both nations are currently facing International Court of Justice (ICJ) hearings in Hague over the interpretation of the 1962 ruling on the Preah Vihear temple.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of new building for the Kampot City hall on Thursday, Hun Sen said keeping the peace is very important for maintaining harmony for both inside and outside Cambodia especially with a neighboring country like Thailand because they are also in the hearing.
"We have to solve any problems peacefully and we don’t want small issues turning into conflicts between both countries," Hun Sen said. "And must peacefully avoid negative affects on all factors of our two nations."
KAMPOT, 18th April 2013 (The Cambodia Herald)—Prime Minister Hun Sen said, ten provincial governors were replaced in accordance with retirement age, health problems and changes made based on legislative candidacy.
Speaking during the opening ceremony for new building in the province of Kampot, Hun Sen said, the Banteay Meanchey provincial governor was replaced because he will be named a legislative candidate for the up-coming national elections on July 28th.
He added, eight out of ten governors who were replaced because of their retirement age are representatives from Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Steung Treng, Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kampong Speu, and Mondolkiri while the Udor Meanchey governor was replaced because of health issues.
