Điều trần công khai về kết quả bầu cử
AKP 29-8: Hội đồng Hiến pháp dự kiến tổ chức thứ bảy tuần này 31.8 cuộc Điều trần công khai về các khiếu nại sau bầu cử do CNRP khiếu nại liên quan tới tỉnh Kratie (Public Hearing on Post-Election Complaints). Cuộc điều trần tổ chức tại Khu nhà Trắng Chamkar Mon State Hall từ 08:30, theo thông cáo báo chí của Hội đồng hôm 28/8. Cuộc điều trần về kết quả mở gói A ở tỉnh Battambang sẽ tổ chức trước 8/9- ngày công bố kết quả bầu cử

H.E. Uth Chhorn, CC’s member and spokesperson, said on Wednesday after the National Election Committee (NEC) open safety packages “A” from eight polling stations in Battambang northwestern province that public hearing on complaints against election result in Battambang will be held soon and not later than Sept. 8, the day to announce the official election results.

The Government of Japan has provided 109 machinery, of which 39 are large machines, and their spare parts worth up to 600 million Yen (about US$6 million) to Cambodia, as part of the disaster prevention and rehabilitation project for 2011 flood-affected areas.

The handover ceremony was held here on Aug. 28 in the presence of H.E. Tram Iv Tek, Minister of Public Works and Transport, and H.E. Yuji Kumamaru, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia.

Speaking at the event, the Japanese diplomat was convinced that the donation will contribute to speeding up the rehabilitation works and to improving local people’s living standards as well as to increasing the effectiveness of road restoration and maintenance in Cambodia.

For his part, H.E. Tram Iv Tek expressed profound thanks to the Government and people of Japan for their assistance to the rehabilitation and development of physical infrastructure in Cambodia, which has contributed to boosting the country’s economic growth and social development.

According to H.E. Tauch Chan Kosal, Secretary of State for Public Works and Transport, the machinery will be distributed to relevant competent institutions in the provinces of Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Pursat, Takeo, Svay Rieng and Stung Treng.

In 2011, Cambodia suffered the worst flooding in the last decade, claiming at least 250 lives and costing the country some US$521 million.

A group of Japanese businessmen has been seeking investment opportunities in Cambodia, according to local media reports.

The delegation, led by Mr. Noritada Ito, President of the Japan Foreign Traders Association, met here yesterday with Mr. Sorn Sokna, Vice President of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.

During the meeting, Mr. Sorn Sokna briefed the Japanese businessmen on the country’s macroeconomic situation, good investment environment and high potentiality for foreign investors.

Currently, there are some 80 Japanese companies investing in Cambodia in various sectors including restaurants, factories and real estates, etc, said Mr. Sorn Sokna.

Cambodian PM To Attend the 10th ASEAN-China Expo in Nanning Early Next Week

Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen will lead a high delegation to attend the 10th ASEAN-China Expo, to be held on Sept. 2-3 in Nanning of China’s Guangxi province, said a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued today.

During his visit, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will hold an official talk with H.E. Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of China, and meet with H.E. Li Jiheng, Governor of China’s Yunnan province, it pointed out.

The Cambodian delegation will include H.E. Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of Commerce, and other members of the Royal Government of Cambodia, added the press release.

Over 100 Companies To Attend the Lantern Expo in September

AKP Phnom Penh, August 29, 2013 —

More than 100 companies are expected to attend the Lantern Expo to be held at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center, Phnom Penh, from Sept. 19 to Oct. 18, 2013, said Okhna Cao Yunde, Board Chairman of Khmer First Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd., at press conference held here yesterday.

The first ever event would attract from 5,000 to 10,000 visitors a day, he added.

This one-month expo is aimed to mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and China and the Cambodia-China Friendship Year, he underlined.

The event has been organized by Khmer First Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Cambodia’s Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, Phnom Penh Municipality, and Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center.
